Alberta Rural Education Symposium
March 4 @ 6:00 pm - March 6 @ 1:00 pm
The theme of 2018 Alberta Rural Education Symposium is, “Building Healthy Rural Communities”. Many rural areas experience challenges in securing supports and there are countless stories about how services like mental health are very difficult to find in many rural communities. Together with our partners, we will learn about the services that are available in rural Alberta. At the same time, we will find out what services are needed to support rural communities and how to develop strategies that will ensure that our rural communities receive equitable services when compared to our urban counterparts.
WE NEED YOUR HELP! We are asking system administration and school board members to consider attending this year’s symposium. Feedback from the attendees of the 2017 ARES was overwhelmingly positive and we want to build on the momentum to give a strong collective voice to rural Alberta! Additionally, we are asking for your help to connect with your local municipal government partners and community organizations about this event. We encourage you to provide them with a copy of this document and invite them to attend the symposium with you this year. They are our partners and the collective voice of rural Alberta is essential to long term viability of our rural communities.
